Product design

Designing a product is different from designing a website. People come back to it every day to get something done, so it has to be clear, quick and dependable.

What we mean by product

Web apps, platforms, portals and internal tools. For Deliveroo, we made a web app where riders redeem their perks. For My Top Schools, we turned a simple directory into a platform where parents search for schools and schools manage their own profiles.

Start with the job to be done

We begin with the people who'll use the product and what they need to get done. Then we map each workflow and look for the steps we can remove. Different users often need different things from the same product, such as a parent, a school and an administrator, so we design for each.

Design systems that scale

A design system is a shared library of components and rules, so every new screen looks and behaves like it belongs. It keeps a growing product consistent and makes new features quicker to design and build. With long-term clients, we learn the existing system and help maintain and develop it.

Prototype, test, improve

Products are never finished. We prototype new ideas in Figma, test them with users and keep improving once they're live.
