Dialogue Earth is an independent non-profit that publishes environmental journalism from around the world, reported by local voices and published in 10 languages.
When we first met them, that journalism lived on 4 separate websites, each covering a different part of the world. We rebuilt China Dialogue first. They liked it, so we rebuilt the other 3, one by one. Then came the big one: bringing all 4 together into a single site, Dialogue Earth.
The new site had to stay on WordPress, because that's what their editorial teams around the world know and use every day.
The hard part was the migration. There were 9 years of articles to move, and nothing could go missing. We wrote migration scripts to put every article, author, language version and URL in the right place, first for each rebuilt site, then again when all 4 were merged.
That second migration was the big one. It meant combining 4 sites' worth of content, in different languages and with different URL structures, plus everything else a long-lived WordPress site collects along the way. Today it all has one home.
Alongside the websites, we build interactive pieces for Dialogue Earth's bigger stories, including lots of interactive maps.
Their palm oil story is a good example. It's a scroll-based story that follows palm oil from the forests of Borneo to restaurants in Europe, mapping the journey as you go. That kind of experience is tricky to build at the best of times. This one also had to live inside WordPress, alongside the rest of their journalism.

Architectural Grille came to us for a website redesign. We also replaced their print-and-scan quote form and built a 3D tool that shows their grilles in different sizes, materials and finishes.
The New York Yankees wanted to make the fan tour of Yankee Stadium more memorable. We built a game that brings fans closer to their Yankees heroes.
