Audience research
One-to-one conversations with the people you want to reach, alongside interviews with your own team. We learn their habits, preferences and needs, then turn them into clear design decisions.

Research is the evidence. Strategy is the decisions we make from it. We dig into the analytics and speak to real users, so you know who you're building for.
Good projects start with knowing who you're building for and what will make it succeed. Before any design or code, we look at your analytics, talk to your team and speak directly to the people you want to reach. Numbers show us what's happening. Conversations tell us why.
It doesn't need to be a huge exercise. We scope research to fit the project, and everything we learn is fed back to your team in a regroup session before design begins.

Learn moreIt varies with scope, but two to four weeks is typical: stakeholder interviews and audience research run in parallel, then creative discovery and the landscape audit follow once we understand who we're actually designing for.
Tighter timelines are possible — we've run the whole phase in under two weeks when needed — but that means narrowing scope up front rather than skipping steps.
On the audience side, usually around eight people spread across your primary audience types — enough to spot real patterns without turning the phase into a research project of its own.
Internally we go wider: stakeholders across client services, thought leadership and new business, so the work reflects how the organisation actually operates day to day, not just what the org chart says.
Not from scratch. We start with whatever you already have and use it to focus our time on the gaps, rather than re-asking questions you already know the answers to.
What we're usually adding is the creative and landscape side — turning existing insight into concrete design directions — which most internal research doesn't cover.
Two working sessions, not just a report. A creative discovery workshop where we walk through moodboards and reference directions together, then a research regroup where we feed back everything uncovered and set out how it shapes the project.
Everything from the stakeholder interviews to the landscape audit rolls into those two sessions, so the whole team leaves aligned on where the project is heading before design work starts.
We cast a wide net first — pulling best-in-class references from across the digital design landscape — then group them into three or four distinct themed moodboards.
In a regroup session we talk through what we love, what we don't, and what fits your brand. The goal isn't to pick one route and bin the rest — it's to blend the best of each into the direction we take forward.
